The Food Forest is the first cafe of it's kind in our region, bringing an entirely plant-based and gluten-free menu to downtown Peterborough. The offerings are a mix of raw and cooked dishes - containing no meat, dairy, egg or gluten! Although a spectacular destination for vegans, celiacs, and those with a common food intolerance, The Food Forest offers something for everyone! Current menu items include 100% organic juices from the cafe's juice bar, satisfying super-food smoothies, as well as delicious lunch entrees. Try the decadent Caesar salad with a creamy cashew-miso dressing, or the fresh Garden Pesto sandwich on gluten-free bread! A beautiful selection of fair trade and organic coffee and tea is also available from 7 am on.
You'll find more than just delicious and healthy meals at The Food Forest, however. You'll find owners Adam Deck and Katie Tuma, who are a fountain of health and food knowledge, and on a mission to educate, create awareness, and nourish the community they serve. One line on the cafe's menu sums up their commitment to quality. "A lot of love and labour goes into our food, and we hope you feel the difference!"
The Food Forest is located at the corner of George and Edinburgh Streets, in the space formerly known as "Ritz Deli North". The cafe is family-friendly, and an inviting atmosphere to explore plant-based cuisine.
